Innovation Fellows Program

The Innovation Fellows Program enables personnel exchanges between Partners hospitals and participating industry. Biopharmaceutical, device, venture capital, digital health, payors, and consulting firms engage with early career Harvard faculty and trainees appointed at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital. Fellows gain the competencies they need to become future leaders in health care through experiential opportunities.

1. VideaHealth: (https://www.videahealth.io/) a start up with decent seed funding currently based at the MIT Innovation Center.  Seeking a “Computer Vision Fellow”.  Working with former MGH PhD—Behrooz Hashemian, PhD (machine learning).

Key elements include:

  • Duration of Project:  1 year
  • % Effort:  flexible
  • Est. start date:  7/1/19
  • Requirements:  PhD more than 2 years, medical imaging experience, machine learning, scientific programming experience

2. Relay Therapeutics:  (https://relaytx.com/) a private company launched in 2016  with financing from Third Rock Ventures and an affiliate of D. E. Shaw Research. To date the company has raised $520M from investors including Third Rock Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund, GV, Casdin Capital, BVF Partners, EcoR1 Capital, Foresite Capital, Perceptive Advisors, Tavistock Group and an affiliate of D.E. Shaw Research.

Relay Tx is seeking a PhD or MD/PhD to work within their “New Opportunities Group” to analyze and prioritize next gen targets to pursue with the Relay platform outside the area of cancer.

  • Duration of Project:  6 months-1 year
  • % Effort:  30-50% (15-20 hours a week)
